Slavery Healing Shrine
This Shrine is dedicated to healing the wounds of slavery.
It is a shrine that welcomes Africans from the Diaspora who are descendants of African slaves back to Africa.
Activities of healing the memories of slave brutality are undertaken at this Shrine.
Some of the typical activities that take place at this shrine include:
- Light a white candle, light incense, offer tobacco, offer a libation, pray and harness the strength of this shrine to heal from the terrible memories of slavery.
- Light a red candle for those who died under the brutal hands of slave masters, pray for their final healing, and douse the candle in the waters of the healing pool located at this shrine, to signify the cleansing and healing of their wounds.
- Make a prayer for those whose spirits remain unsettled by the consequences of slavery.
- Place a small rock to signify the final return to Father and Mother land, Africa.
